What Does The New “Open Carry” Law Allow?

December 9, 2015 By Charles Thompson

The current concealed  handgun law will be modified on January 1, 2016.  The new law eliminates the distinction between concealed/open carry and creates a “license to carry a handgun.”  The new law will allow a person with a current concealed handgun license (“CHL”) to carry a handgun in a concealed manner or openly in a belt or shoulder holster.  The same limitations on where you can carry a handgun also apply to open carry.  The new law does NOT allow for open carry on a college campus.
