Inmate Freed by DNA after 20 Years In TDCJ

October 10, 2011 By Charles Thompson

Yesterday, I read a newspaper article by Patricia Hart in the Houston Chronicle with detailed a man who served 20 years and was eventually cleared by DNA. Read the article about Michael Morton here: http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/Hart-Truth-finally-sets-Texas-inmate-free-2208257.php

What I find most alarming about this situation is how the Williams County District Attorney’s Office had offered Mr. Morton a release if he would admit guilt. Mr. Morton served two more years waiting on the court system to clear him.
