DWI in Texas snags Augie Garrido

February 10, 2009 By Charles Thompson

Just to show nobody is immune to DWI.  It is one of the offenses that doesn’t play favorites.  This is an article about UT baseball coach Augie Garrido and his DWI.

KVUE News has confirmed that University of Texas baseball coach Augie Garrido plans to plead guilty to a drunk driving charge.

Garrido will enter the plea Monday morning.

Austin police arrested the coach in the city’s entertainment district earlier this month. Police stopped him after they saw him driving without his lights on.

Days later Garrido admitted to reporters that he had been drinking and apologized for his actions. The university suspended Garrido for four games this season.
